Motor Vehicle Department Jammu Holds Awareness Program On Road Safety

Department/RTO Jammu organized an awareness cum Sensitization programme on Road Safety in connection with the observation of National Road Safety month under the theme “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha”. The Chief Guest of the event was Mrs. Esha Chib, ARTO Jammu. While addressing the students on the occasion, ARTO Jammu, Mrs. Esha Chib shared some key aspects of Road Safety Knowledge viz, Understanding the meaning of traffic signs and signals, knowing and adhering to the speed limit to prevent accidents, anticipating potential hazards from defensive drivers, importance of wearing helmet/Seat belt while driving etc. Sh. Surinder Kumar, Insp. MVD displayed video presentation to students regarding road safety.Ten students of the College participated in the symposium on the topic “Concern for Road Safety”. The Senior faculty members of the College Prof Jozafeen Afzal & Prof. Seema Sudan acted as Jury members.Speaking on the event, Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) T. K Sharma urged the students to be responsible citizens and obey traffic rules to ensure safety on roads. The programme culminated with the distribution of certificate of participation to all the participants and first three winners namely Shagun Choudhary, Bhavana Sharma & Mansi Sharma respectively were felicitated with momentos. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Chetan Sharma. The whole event was managed by Prof. Himanshu Khajuria NSS PO & Prof. Shivani Sharma NCC ANO.
