Today on 31 May 2022 NCC Unit of GDC Khour observed World No Tobacco Day , the theme of which was ‘Tobacco is killing us and our planet’. .The aim of the programme was to spread awareness regarding the ill effects of smoking ,the diseases it can cause, the preventable measures and to convince students to adopt a healthy lifestyle. About 50 students participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion Professor (Dr) Seema Sudan, Professor Tarsem Lal and Professor Dr. Kuldeep Raj Sharma awared the students about the harmful impact of tobacco on the human being as well as on the environment as a whole and that smoking tobacco is not harmful to an individual who is smoking but also to the people around him .Smoking causes heart disease , Lung cancer, stroke , diabetes and Cronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It also increases risk for Tuberculosis, eye diseases and problems of immune system .
The entire program was organized by Professor Arun Sharma (NCC Officer of the College) under the able guidance of Dr T K Sharma, Principal GDC Khour. All other faculty members also attended the programme.
