GDC Khour celebrated Earth Day 2022 with the theme “Invest in our Planet”. On this occasion the Department of Environmental Sciences in collaboration with the NSS unit of GDC Khour organised an online quiz competition to spread awareness to protect the environment. About 160 students of the college participated in this quiz. The NCC Cadets organised a plantation drive within the college premises in which Dr Rama Badyal, former Principal of the college planted the first sapling which was followed by plantation by the staff members. A rally to spread awareness regarding the significance to save planet earth was also carried out by the cadets with the slogans “Save Earth for Better Future” & “Lets Invest in Planet Earth” etc. A documentary on the theme was also screened for the students. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Tarsem Lal highlighted the importance of celebrating earth day to the students, he advised the students to take various measures to reduce pollution to protect the earth’s environment. The programme was organized by Prof. Dalip Kumar, HOD EVS, Prof. Gurvinder Kour, NSS PO and Prof. Arun Sharma, NCC Officer under the able guidance of Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal, GDC Khour.
