NSS Volunteers of GDC Khour celebrate NSS Foundation Day

On the occasion of NSS foundation day 2022, NSS volunteers of GDC Khour dedicated a Park developed/maintained by them to the college. Present on the occasion were Principal, GDC Khour, Prof. (Dr) T K Sharma, IQAC Convenor, Prof. Tarsem Lal and Programme Officer, Prof. Gurvinder Kour. Volunteers created the NSS logo, which is based on the enormous Rath Wheel of the world-renowned Konark Sun Temple in Orissa, India. The logo's Red and Blue hues inspire NSS Volunteers to be active and enthusiastic in nation-building social activities. The wheel represents the cycle of creation and preservation and the flow of life through time and space. Thus, the wheel represents both continuity and change and represents NSS's unceasing pursuit of social transformation. Volunteers also penned the NSS motto, "Not Me But You," which captures the essence of democratic living and emphasises the necessity of selfless service. This motto encapsulates the philosophy of the National Service Scheme, which is based on the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society as a whole; hence, NSS volunteers shall strive for the good of society.In addition to this various species of plants were planted in the Park.
