NSS Seven day Winter Special Camp was inaugurated today with the celebration of International Women’s Day on 8^th march 2022. On this occasion a poetry recitation competition was organised in which the college students participated with immense enthusiasm. This day aims to highlight the achievements of women across the globe and focuses on the issue of gender discrimination in society. It also ensures to create self confidence among women to take their stand and fight against gender discrimination. This year’s theme is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” focusing on achieving gender equality in the context of climate change and environmental & disaster risk reduction.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Tarsem Lal, enlightened the participants regarding the rights of women. Prof. Arun Sharma (Department of History) traced the changes in the status of women in India from vedic period to the present times. The entire program was organized by Professor Gurvinder Kour under the able guidance of Dr Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal GDC Khour. All the faculty members also attended the programme along with students.
